The assembly-line was created on December 1, 2013, and allows workers to remain in one place in the factory, rather than moving around building a whole vehicle. This process revolutionized mass-production. Ford Motor Company was now able to produce cars at a higher speed, which reduced the manufacturing time from 12 hours to just over an hour (Stanford). This resulted in a decrease in production costs and lower prices. He is now a leading industrialist because he has brought a revolutionary technique to the market. Ford is not the only one making money. After introducing the assembly line, Ford started to change the company’s relationship with its employees. Ford does this by raising the minimum wage to five dollars per day for many of his employees in an effort to make work more enjoyable and efficient. According to the Detroit Journal, the current minimum wage for great motor cars is $2.34. From Monday, January 31st through December 31, even the lowest workers and those who sweep floors will earn at least $5 per week.
